A few weeks ago as I sat at the computer, Jocelyn was standing next to me with her spiral-bound notebook, full of her drawings, and placed it atop the desk and traced her hands. When she was done tracing she added little circles with dots inside to each palm. When I asked her what the circles were she replied that they were nails. My first thought (shamefully?) was that she meant fingernails, and I said something along the lines of, "You are so silly--you know that's not where fingernails go". Jocelyn simply responded that they weren't finger nails--they were nails, like how Jesus had nails in his hands from the cross. I found it so interesting, and still do. She really learned a lot about Jesus and the Crucifixion and Resurrection this Easter season. She learned a lot at school and at church, and asked LOTS of questions, and now traces her hands and always adds the stigmata. Jocelyn is a thinker. She's always thinking and I guess Easter really made her think about Jesus and what he went through and she continues to think about it now. Here is the picture she drew today.
That is so special. Thank you for sharing that.
