Happy Birthday Vince!

Vince, I don't even know if you read my blog...Hopefully you do or you will miss your happy birthday message. To the old man of our group--Hope you are having a great day doing something fun and indulging yourself in sweets!

Did you know that on June 24, 1374 a sudden outbreak of St. John's Dance caused people in the streets of Aachen, Germany, to experience hallucinations and begin to jump and twitch uncontrollably until they collapsed from exhaustion?

Boring Mondays

Mondays are always boring! Jocelyn and I are sad to see daddy go back to work. I have designated Monday as laundry day...maybe that will make it not so boring, especially since doing laundry is always such fun! Is there a sarcasm button for that last statement? Anyway, this weekend was pretty fun. We went on our first family picnic to South Park. Jocelyn sat in her stroller, watching us eat, and then watching daddy get attacked by daddy long leg spiders. It was pretty funny watching daddy run and dance (for Jocelyn and Mom anyway), but it cut the picnic short. Every time daddy felt his leg hair blow he thought another spider was crawling on him! LOL! So we walked around, picked daisies, and enjoyed spending a beautiful day together!

This one's for you Todd...Does it give you the heebie-jeebies?
The one thing South Park didn't have: A baseball game with a concession stand where daddy could get some nachos. Maybe next weekend! YUM!

Introducing Tooth #1 and Tooth #2

I finally got a picture of those adorable little teeth. Please pardon the slobber, and the tears. Crying is the best time to get a look at the little suckers...

Not sure that they are visible in this goofy smile picture, but they are down there on the bottom...Let the crying begin. A little more visible. The left one is up a little more than the right one.
Getting better...Covered in slobber, but best shot yet...

Oh yeah, and I'm getting the feeling that tooth #3 may be making an appearance soon...on the top!

Happy Anniversary Toddie!

Ten years ago today, I was 17 and you were 16. I sat in your bedroom at your mom's house and told you my friends were asking if you were my boyfriend and that I didn't know what to tell them. That's when we made it official. Three years ago today, we sat in Dormont park under a tree, you pulled out a ring and asked me to marry you.
Two years ago today:

Still one of the best days of my life!

I love you!!!

What Do YOU think this face is saying?

5 Months Old!

Jocelyn Paige is 5 months old today...already! The past five months have gone by so quickly. I look forward to all the milestones, but worry it's all happening way too quickly. I cherish each and every day and most of all I am so thankful to be able to be home with Jocelyn to witness it all!

She Did It!!!!!!!!!!

She finally did it...and she waited for Daddy to get home so we both could see it happen for the first time. Jocelyn rolled from her back to her tummy!! She wasn't a happy camper once she was on her belly. She really hates tummy time, but this time she gave herself tummy time! Funny how you can be so proud of such a little thing. Yeah for Jocelyn, our little roller!

Where Does this Thing Go??

This morning I found Jocelyn exploring her binky. She usually takes her binky while in her crib, but her little hand pulls the thing out almost as fast as it goes in. She has been trying to get it back in herself for a while now and she does a good job sometimes, getting it back into her mouth (not always right-side-up). Other times, she doesn't quite get it in the right spot. When I saw it stuck to her eye I started cracking up. I guess it had been wet and stuck right on an incorrect spot. It even stayed there long enough for me to run and get the camera! She didn't seem to mind much, just seemed to be wondering why her Mommy was laughing so hard! Take a look!

It's not ALWAYS my fault

So, today Jocelyn and I went to Lowe's (to buy a new blind for our bedroom since I broke the one we had) and then went to Giant Eagle to buy something to make for dinner (grilled chicken salad). OK, so I bought ice cream too...anyway, as I'm backing out of the parking spot another person pretty much right behind me is doing the same thing, and of course when that happens you crash into each other. I shouldn't say 'crash' because we were both going at a speed that wouldn't even register on the dashboard. It was a small bump. I pull back into a parking spot just to make sure the other person is OK with me just leaving, but of course she's not. She tells me I made a mark on her car. I look and do indeed see a few marks on her car. She wants my insurance information. I get a closer look at her car and the "marks" that I made are already covered with touch-up paint. Hmmm...I tell her I'm calling the police. There's no way I'm paying for her already marked-up bumper to be repainted. I dial 911 while the woman goes on and on about how she is so sick and tired of being hit into at shopping centers. Never during this whole time did I even think to myself that it wasn't my fault (but that doesn't mean that it was, right?). I called Todd while I was waiting for the police, and he tells me that it's not my fault-it's equally both of our faults because we were both backing up and bumped into each other. Why did I automatically take the blame? Maybe because the lady was about 40 years my elder. Maybe because I wasn't thinking. The police officer came and took our info (of course I didn't have my insurance card) and he said we would each just have to turn it into our insurance company, that this is a no fault accident...My husband is so smart, by the way. I just wanted to make sure the officer wrote in his report that the woman's car already had marks that were covered up so she couldn't try to blame me. What a mean old lady. She made me (and sleeping Jocelyn) sit in the parking lot (with ice cream melting away) on an 80+ degree day waiting for the police just so MAYBE she would get away with having someone else pay for her already scratched up bumper. HOW RUDE!

Our Trip to Charlotte

We just arrived home from our trip to Charlotte yesterday. We all had a great time. Todd and I were both excited for everyone to meet Jocelyn for the first time. Jocelyn got to meet her Great Aunts Beth, Sally, and Jayne, her Great Uncles Dave and John, her second cousins Taylor, Kristen, Andrew, Nick, and Zach, as well as one of my best friends, Jennifer, and my parent's "other" grandchildren...the neighbor's kids. She did very well, and I think everyone who wanted to hold her got to do so. She is finally smiling at "strangers" more, so everyone got to see her beautiful smile (with those two little bottom teeth poking through).

Jocelyn traveled really well. Our trip down took 9 hours where it normally would only take 7, but we stopped twice for an hour each time. We just felt so guilty putting Jocelyn back into the car seat. While we were there she stayed on her regular routine and slept well (despite the teeth). We made better time on the way home because Jocelyn slept even more than on the way down.

On a side note, gas cost $4.09 a gallon...ridiculous!

My mom is the picture-taking queen. She captures some amazingly cute pictures of Jocelyn (for which I am very thankful). Here's one of my favorites:...And a couple more:I will update with family shots as soon as I get a chance to upload and when I get my mom's images.
