She got her first skinned knee. I knew it would happen soon. She has no fear while playing outside: climbing the levels of the patio and running down sidewalks.
Yesterday she fell. I was right there and picked her up right away, knowing she would have a boo boo. She didn't cry. I brought her in, washed it off, and got a box of band aids.
Jocelyn did not want a band aid.
I'm sure this is the first of many, many skinned knees. It's a right of childhood. I can't believe my knees look normal today when I think about how many skinned knees I had when I was a kiddo.
kiss, kiss, jocelyns a big girl.

I wish I had some advice on how you can get her to keep the Band-Aid on ... I know when she gets older, if she's like most kids, she'll want a Band-Aid every day, for imaginary boo boos, just because they're fun—like stickers! The skinned knee does make her, somehow, look so much older.
