Phase Five: Appliances and Lighting
Finally! I can cook again! After the cabinets were complete, we moved our appliances back into the kitchen. Luckily, we have newer appliances (except for the refrigerator) and only needed to buy the above-the-range microwave. That helps a lot with the kitchen remodel budget! We are pretty happy with the way it looks so far...
A nice, new stainless steel refrigerator will look great here...one day, but for now: this one still works.
Then we finally found some lighting that we thought would look good!
A new light for the ceiling and above the sink
Mini Pendant
Another view of the light. How do you like our counter tops? Some sturdy cardboard is working well for us until the counter tops are installed. It's pretty hard to cook without a counter top!
And here are our new lights for the back yard
I guess I have looked forward to each phase of this project, but now that the end is in sight, I am really anxious to get our counter tops and sink in. Cooking in a kitchen with cardboard counter tops is one thing, but not having a sink is another! Our spaghetti dinner the other night was interesting...carrying a pot of boiling water down the basement steps to strain the noodles into the slop sink was fun!
When will the counter tops be in? Nobody knows! Hopefully we will get a call on Monday for an installation date. The measure was on July 30th, 5 days ago, and the guy told us it would be around 7-10 days for installation. It has been 22 days since we have had a sink in our kitchen. I. Am. Ready! Just having a date that I know it will be happening will help. Please!!!
