Easter 2012

We had a very busy, but very nice Easter this year! On Friday, we went to Grandma's house to dye Easter eggs.Jocelyn was very into it this year, and enthusiastically dyed all 5 dozen hard boiled eggs that grandma had cooked. Yes, you read that right...5 dozen! :-)
Grandma likes hard boiled eggs a lot! ;)

Reagan even participated in the fun this year, but after her first egg, she was not really into dyeing the 59 eggs remaining.

On Saturday we drove to Altoona to visit with my Grandpap and Grandma and meet up with my Mom & Dad. It was the first time either of my grandparents met Reagan, which is pretty sad seeing as how Altoona is only a 2 hour drive from Pittsburgh. Tisk, tisk on me!

It was a beautiful, sunny day, so we spent our time outside with Grandpap in his back yard. We played some playdough, drew with some sidewalk chalk, blew some bubbles and had a picnic for lunch.

Reagan has some pretty severe stranger anxiety right now, so she wouldn't let Great Grandpap hold her. This is the best we could get for a picture of them together.

We drove back home Saturday afternoon, and Meme and Papa came home with us for Easter Day!

On Easter morning, the girls woke up and found their Easter baskets, hidden by the Easter bunny the night before.

Then we had a nice little breakfast before we headed off to church.
Hard boiled eggs, kielbasa, and glazed doughnut muffins. Yummy!

After church, Jocelyn realized that all of our plastic Easter eggs were missing and she and Reagan went out to the backyard to see if the Easter Bunny hid them.

He did!!
Jocelyn kept saying that she "just couldn't believe it"!
Then my mom took some really great pictures of all of us!

Afterwards, we had breakfast again. This time we had Spinach and Cheese Strata, home fries, and more glazed doughnut muffins!
I didn't take any pictures...I was too busy cooking!

Then, after saying goodbye to my Mom and Dad, and after the girls took a much needed nap, we headed to the Embassy Suites in Coraopolis for a private Easter dinner buffet with Todd's side of the family. The food was delicious, the hotel was beautiful and it was perfect that we had our own little private cabana to eat in--the girls were free to run around as they pleased!

The Easter bunny even showed up to give the girls a little gift and take some pictures. She must have been pretty tired after hopping around all night delivering Easter baskets.
I can't believe she got up from her nap just for us!
Jocelyn was excited to see the bunny, and she took the opportunity to thank her for her Easter basket~what a sweet little girl!!

This was as close as Reagan was going to get to the bunny. I guess Aunt Di convinced her she would be safe as long as she held her! This is the best picture we got of Reagan and the bunny this year--she cried when she was this close to the bunny any other time!
It was a truly wonderful Easter!
Jocelyn said it was her best Easter yet, and also didn't forget to make sure to remind us that because it was Easter "Jesus opened the gates to Heaven"!
