Dance Class

We signed Jocelyn up for a 6-week-long summer dance class which began last night!  She was super excited to begin and she is already looking forward to going every Tuesday evening!  After the first session, they even put on a little performance so the parents could see some of the moves they had already learned!

A natural, right?  :)

Father's Day Weekend

We took at trip to Erie, PA for Father's Day weekend.  We booked a hotel at Splash Lagoon Indoor Water park and spent Friday afternoon and Saturday there.  It was a pretty fun place.  I'm not a big fan of water parks, especially the indoor type, but this one was clean and newer looking, so I had a pretty good time along with the girls and Todd.

They have a really big indoor wave pool!  Jocelyn and Reagan really liked it!

Jocelyn got brave on Saturday and rode the body slide by herself!  She went on too many times to count after this photo was taken!
Todd liked ALL the water slides!
I even did one!
Reagan had to stick to the smaller slides in the kid area.  She loved them, but REALLY wanted to go on the bigger ones too.  Darn 38 inches tall requirement!

This bird was in a cage near the front desk.  This was the part that Reagan HATED!  That bird scared Reagan in a way I have never seen her scared before!  The thing was cawing and crawling alongside of the cage toward us and Reagan screamed a blood-curdling scream that I never imagined could come from her little body!  Poor Reagan was so scared, but Mommy couldn't stop laughing at how she screamed!
Saturday evening we drove to Cleveland from Erie to hang out with Meme and Papa.  Sunday, we had planned on a beach day, but the weather didn't cooperate. Instead, we took a little walk along Lake Erie and got some pictures of the girls with their favorite Daddy on Father's Day.

It was a fun weekend!!!
Hope you had a great Father's Day Todd!  We enjoyed spending it with you!

Little Piggies!

Strawberry Picking

We went strawberry picking for the first time last weekend.  Jocelyn spent the last year asking if she could do it, and finally it was time!  She woke up extra early despite going to bed super late the night before.  She couldn't contain her excitement any longer.  It was amazing she had enough energy to pick as many strawberries as she did.  It was super hot for 9:30am...already in the mid-80s.
We walked all the way to the farthest spot we could to try to get some good strawberries that weren't picked over.

Reagan did a pretty good job making it through the "rough".

Jocelyn was really into it and she was an excellent strawberry picker.  She made sure they were nice and red and had no rotten or green spots!

Reagan took a little more coaching than Jocelyn to pick good ones, but she was a really fast learner!

That's a GREAT one, Jocelyn!

Making sure it's good!

This was really heavy for Reagan to hold!

Gotta find more, Mom!

Once Reagan realized she could eat them there was no stopping her!  They probably should have weighed her in and out so we could pay for the ones she ate!

Her face is saying 'sour' but those strawberries were oh so sweet and delicious!

Reagan got tired of picking and eating and plopped down to take a rest.  Whew!  It was really HOT!
Afterwards we drove down to check out the rest of the strawberry festival.  There were a few activities for the kiddos.  Jocelyn has been a fan of this train since she was 1!  Reagan refused to ride...

It was a fun morning despite the heat and early morning wake up.  The only thing we would change about it is the amount of strawberries we picked.  Next year we will make sure to pick more.  We thought we had a lot, but we probably could have found things to do with double the amount we ended up with.  We ate a lot of them fresh, and we also made strawberry milk shakes and strawberry pound cake treats.  Yummy!  Next year we will try out making our own strawberry jam!

A Housewarming in Bay Village, OH!

This weekend we traveled only 2.5 hours to visit my Mom and Dad!!!  2.5 hours! My parents are the proud owners of a new house in Bay Village, Ohio.

Congratulations Mom & Dad!
The community truly feels like a beach town, and the house gives off a beachy feel as well.  Only about a block away from Lake Erie, you can see and hear the waves crashing from the front windows of their house!

On Saturday we took a walk down to the lake!
On Sunday we went to a nearby beach where you can set-up and spend the day on the sand.  It was a bit too cold and windy for a true beach day, but it didn't stop us from checking it out!

The girls look forward to lots of time with MeMe and Papa at this beach!!
Reagan seemed to like the wind!
We also went to a Children's Fair at the Lake Erie Nature & Science Center.  The girls had a blast!
We bought 5 ducks to race in the Great Ducky Race.  It was pretty cool seeing all of those rubber ducks racing toward the finish line!
None of our ducks won, though! Oh well!
The only negative I can see when it comes to my parents move from North Carolina to Ohio is the view of Downtown Cleveland from their beach, and the fact that when people ask me where my parents live I feel like I have to make it clear that I am NOT from Cleveland and my parents are not native Clevelanders!  It is VERY nice however, to be able to travel to see them in a little over 2 hours.  It sure beats the 8-10 hour drive to NC!
The view of Cleveland...

Thanks for having us!  It was a great weekend in Bay Village!
