Never Would Have Thought...
...that Jocelyn would have her first popsicle in the middle of Winter.
We went for a walk outside today because it was so sunny. The rest of the week is supposed to be cloudy, rainy, and snowy. Jocelyn is very independent when it comes to walking, and she especially loves walking outside. She tried to walk off of a sloped curb and fell flat on her face. She didn't hit too hard, but hard enough to cause her upper lip to bleed. Jocelyn is a tough cookie. She shed a few tears, but wanted to be back down and walking in less than a minute. When we got home, I noticed that her lip was swelling so I decided I should try to put some ice on it. Luckily I hadn't thrown away some popsicles we had left over from the summer!
After she was done with her popsicle, she decided to call Dada and tell him about her boo-boo.

Just Beautiful!!
What a gorgeous day!
Right now it is 66 degrees outside!!
Jocelyn and I had a fun day. My friend Adrienne came over with her son, Peter, for a play date. The kiddos had some lunch together, watched each other play, and Adrienne and I did some catching up.
Afterwards, Jocelyn and I went outside. She did some walking up and down the sidewalk, then we went to our back yard and Jocelyn did some walking and picking up leaves. I can't wait until spring when Jocelyn and I can spend the majority of our time outside. We will be needing some outdoor toys before too long.
The only bad thing about weather like today's is that we have to deal with the harsh reality that Winter is not yet over, and according to Punxsutawny Phil, we still have several weeks remaining. Days like today make me want Spring all the more, but I know this is just a taste of what is still a couple months away, and that there will most likely be several more inches of snow that will fall before the warmer weather is here to stay!
Oh well, we will take what we can get!

Super Bowl XLIII
The three of us watched the Steelers game at our house last night. There were a few places we could have gone, but we were afraid that when the Steelers won we would get stuck somewhere with crazy celebrating fans and wouldn't be able to get Jocelyn home, so we decided to stay put. I was thankful for this after the Steelers did win and we heard all the sirens and craziness going on in this city!
This is Todd wearing his lucky Steelers shirt during the game. I guess it worked, and I'm glad I can finally wash it after a winning season!
We asked Jocelyn what she thought about the Arizona Cardinals and this is what she had to say!
The day after: The aftermath. Look closely, Todd is sweeping up all the black and gold confetti we shot out of our Pittsburgh confetti cannons, celebrating our big win!

The snow is looking a little black and gold this morning!!

For those of you who aren't in Pittsburgh, you would have wished you were here last night after the game (if you are a Steelers fan anyway). Everyone was out on their porches, banging pots and pans, screaming, blowing their car horns, shooting off fireworks, flicking lights on and off, screaming and celebrating together. Pittsburgh fans are the best fans. We could hear screaming and horn blowing for hours after the game. Amazing! So fun! We are truly spoiled by our Steelers, our 6-time-super bowl champs! What a game!!!!
