From Growls to Squeals

A couple of weeks ago, Jocelyn accidentally squealed. Since then she had been trying to do it again--every once in a while she would do it, but she wasn't quite sure how to make herself do it on purpose. On Sunday morning, Todd and I laid in bed listening to squeal, after squeal, after squeal. It's the cutest thing we have ever heard. I know all babies do this, but she's ours and we just think she's so darn cute! Just today her squeals have started to end in raspberries. I had to change her shirt three times! I wonder what she will do next?!?

She Already Knows She's Cool

We got Jocelyn her first pair of Sunglasses. It looks like she doesn't like them much, but that face is really saying, "Yeah, I know I look cool."

Where are the Daisies?

Weather wise, May has been absolutely horrible in Pittsburgh! Of the 22 days in May we have had maybe 5 with sunshine, and even worse, it seems like we haven't even had a high temperature above 60 degrees in 2 weeks. This is horrible! Where is my spring? And where are my daisies? One of my favorite things about spring is seeing the wild daisies growing alongside roads. I haven't seen ANY yet! I guess I will have to settle with the picture my mom took and sent to me. I want spring, and I want daisies!!

My First Mother's Day

It was very exciting to be able to celebrate Mother's Day as a mother this year! Thank you Jocelyn & Todd for making me a Mommy!!

We celebrated by going to church together and then an early dinner out...where Jocelyn just sat and watched mommy and daddy eat very patiently!

Jocelyn's Baptism

It ended up being a beautiful day...Jocelyn's baptism was on May 4 at St. Sylvester's church, then afterwards everyone enjoyed (well, I hope they enjoyed) a BBQ at our house. I felt like a chicken with my head cut off, but everyone else seemed to be having a good time. I was especially happy that my Grandpap could make the trip to be here. It was very cool introducing him to his first great grandchild. I really wish everyone from both sides of the family could have been there...that would have been the only thing that could have made the day any better. Jocelyn was so attentive when the priest was speaking. It was almost like she knew what was going on. Todd and I were both proud of her behavior during both mass and the baptism, so proud that we have gone to church every Sunday since!

Our beautiful baby girl arrived on January 8, 2008 at 12:35pm. She weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long. Her arrival was as pleasant as could be expected and now more than ever before we couldn't imagine our life without her!
